Michael Phelps net worth is nearly around $55 million after winning six more medals, including five gold at the recent Rio de Janeiro Olympics. Aside from his most recent achievements, he got the first ever Lifetime Achievement Wheaties box, an honor that every star would ever dreamed of.
Wheaties has given Phelps the honor on "Today" show on August 29, Monday, the Olympian's third accolade from the General Mills cereal maker. The Olympian just could not express his appreciation for the award given by Wheaties, the first time in the company's 94-year history, according to CBS Sports. With many sponsors and achievements that he is getting, it is assumed that Phelps' net worth is going to surge up more.
"Every day I kind of pinch myself to see if this is real life," Phelps said on "Today" show. "It's been amazing to be able to know that I've put my mind to these goals and been able to achieve them. This all started with a dream, and with hard work and dedication, anything is possible."
The cereal company earlier said that Phelps inspired them and countless others. After the Rio Olympics, he ended up a total of 28 medals-23 gold, 3 silver and 2 bronze, surpassing the 18 Olympic medals won gymnast Larisa Latynina of the Soviet Union. He also broke an ancient record, beating the place of Leonidas of Rhodes in 152 B.C. for winning his 13th individual gold medal.

The most decorated Olympian of all time first appeared on the Wheaties box in 2004 and then in 2012. The signature Wheaties box will be available in stores for a couple of weeks.
Meanwhile, Phelps had shed some light on what was really on his mind when he was captured with the iconic "death glare" at the Rio Olympics. While speaking onstage at the VMA's on August 28, Sunday, he cleared that his wild look was not directed to the South African swimmer Chad le Clos, but he was busy listening to Future's track "Stick Talk," Washington Post reported.
After the 2016 Olympics, Phelps' net worth could amass more. His business engagements with Visa and Under Armour have contributed a huge chunk of $94 million, while his winnings from the swimming competitions have given him approximately $1.9 million.
