With the tidbits of information being announced before Nintendo NX's upcoming release on 2017, fans and players are equally excited to the different game titles that will run through the highly-anticipated console. Through an official confirmation for "Dragon Quest" franchise, its 11th installment "Dragon Quest XI: In Search of Departed Time" is finally coming to Nintendo NX.
According to Gematsu, the confirmation for "Dragon Quest XI" Nintendo NX happened during the round table discussion in Nintendo Dream's October issue. The discussion were participated by the creator of the "Dragon Quest" series Yuji Horii, along with "Pokemon" series producer Junichi Masuda, and "Super Smash Bros." director Masahiro Sakurai.
Following the transcribed interview of Gematsu, Sakurai regarded Horii on the confirmation of an NX Version of "Dragon Quest XI." "First, Dragon Quest XI. The 11th installment in the series will be released simultaneously on Nintendo 3DS and PlayStation 4, and including NX it's coming out on three platforms, right?" Sakurai asked Horii, to which the latter reaffirmed as a fact.
Horii then continued to explain the reason why he wanted to release "Dragon Quest XI" on all platforms simultaneously. "That's right. Spoilers will emerge if we release one version earlier," he said. "However, we're a little concerned about the sense of distance in movement. It's different for each of the supported hardware," he added.
Some of the other games confirmed for the Nintendo NX include another "Sonic" 2017 game, along with "Just Dance 2017," "The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild" and "Dragon Quest X."
Although Nintendo was pretty much silent about the development of NX, an updated patent filing with the United States Patent and Trademark Office of Nintendo NX indicate that a customizable controller may be expected from the console once it is out.
According to Christian Daily, Nintendo NX is primarily a hybrid handheld console that will come with two detachable controllers on either side of its screen. The detachable controllers confirm the portability of the Nintendo NX console.
Nintendo NX is apparently under the hood of being launched on March 2017, and "Dragon Quest XI" will be released on May 27, 2017 for Japan. The game will be available for the PS4, Nintendo 3DS and Nintendo NX.
