If reports are anything to go by, Android devices are more stable than iOS devices.
According to a study by the Blancco Technology Group, iOS devices are twice as likely to fail when compared with brands that run on Android.
iOS devices charted a 58% failure rate that more than doubles the 25% they had for the first quarter of this year. On the other hand, Android devices managed 35% that is an improvement from its 44% in the first quarter of 2016.
Blancco said that plagued by Wi-Fi connectivity issues, crashing apps and other performance issues, the failure rate of iOS devices more than doubled to 58% quarter-over-quarter.
Reports suggest that 29% of the iOS failure rate is from the Apple iPhone 6. It is followed by the Apple iPhone 6s smartphone at 23%, iPhone 6s Plus at 14%, iPhone 6 Plus at 13% and the iPhone 5s at 8%.
It is believed that a culprit for the performance of iPhone 6 smartphone could be some of company's latest software updates such as iOS 9.3.2 and iOS 9.3.1.
Several owners of iPad and iPhone started to see big problems on their devices after the software updates. According to Android device failure rate statistics, the tech company Samsung is responsible for 26% of it and LeTV and Lenovo individually accounted for 17%. Asus and Motorola trailed at 7% and 11%.
At 10%, Le1S has the greatest failure rate among Android devices. Next to it is Le 1S Eco, at 7%. Vibe K3 Note, Vibe P1m and Vibe K5 Plus trailed the LeTV models at 4%, 4% and 6%.
The performance problems on Android devices arise from the battery charging and camera that were charted at 10%. Furthermore, microphone, speaker and touch problems are in the top 5 problems detected on Android devices.
As for performance problems on iOS devices, the receiver, mobile data, headset and Wi-Fi are some of the culprits.
According to reports, 23% of Android apps and 50% of iOS apps crashed during Q2 2016. Google, Facebook Messenger, Facebook, Instagram and Snapchat make up the top 5 applications that often crash on iOS, BGR reported.
Meanwhile, if reports are anything to go by, the tech giant Google is dropping the Nexus brand name from its smartphones. Google's Sailfish and Marlin will not have Nexus branding. The two devices will have different branding.
