More solid indicators point to what appears as imminent release date of the MacBook Pro 2016 as one key feature of the MacOS-powered laptop was reportedly confirmed by new application codes. Apple Pages has code commands that hinted of the rumored OLED Dynamic Function Row for the upcoming Mac, a new report said.
It is widely believed that the MacBook Pro refresh this 2016 will include a customizable OLED touch bar that will serve as function keys or shortcut access to MacOS Sierra and native or third-party applications that will support the hardware upgrade. Apple Insider said that the screenshot shared by France-based blog site Consomac is the first confirmation that the Customize or Dynamic Function Row exists.
Consomac detected the text entry Customize Function Row on the Apple Page word processing application, which supported the long-standing rumors of an OLED panel function keys that Apple will deploy with the MacBook Pro 2016.
In recent days, Bloomberg reported that indeed the MBP 2016 (alongside the new MacBook Air) will be introduced with the iPhone 7 in September 7 and that the computer will have and OLED touch bar mainly for the new Dynamic Function Row functionality. The Consomac report further stirred up the rumors of game-changing features packed with the new MacBook Pros, Apple Insider said.
Yet Bloomberg has noted too on its report that Dynamic Function Row is the codename for the OLED touch bar functionality and that a new label for the feature could be introduced come the actual MBP 2016 unboxing.
According to Apple Insider, "Dynamic Function Row is said to display both a virtual row of function keys and may be tailorable by developers or users app-specific commands."
But apart from the customizable OLED function keys, the MacBook Pro 2016 is also seen to seen deliver significant upgrades such as Touch ID-enabled power button, USB 3.1 Gen 2 ports with full support Thunderbolt 3 and Siri for Mac that is integrated with the renamed MacOS Sierra.
Powering the new MacBook Pro is still a toss between Intel Kaby Lake and Skylake but the latter is more favored as Kaby Lake is not expected to be ready until late 2016 or early 2017. Rumors also say that the high-end 15-inch MacBook Pros will have AMD Polaris 11 GPU while the rest of the model will rely on Intel's integrated graphics.
On release date, predicted by analysts to happen no later than November, the MacBook Pro 2016 will be made available in 13-inch and 15-inch form factor and per the recent forecast from Ming-chi Kuo of KGI Securities buyers can expect to unpack a slimmer and lighter build of the laptops.
