Netflix's "Stranger Things" is probably one of the best shows ever in recent times. It currently has a 9.1 rating on IMDB, and continues to attract new and old viewers months after its first release. With that said, there's already major season renewal buzz for the show.
The first season of "Stranger Things" ended with the rescue of Will Byers after he was stuck in the Upside Down for days. Unfortunately for Will, his return to the real world didn't exactly bring things back to normal. He was seen coughing out black goo, similar to that found in the Upside Down. Fans have taken this as a sign that the mystery hasn't quiet ended, and there's still more to uncover about the supernatural aspect of the show and how this will affect the characters.
What's certain, however, is that the show's main heroine Eleven (Millie Bobby Brown) is not dead. Although she disappeared with the demogorgon when she defeated the monster with her powers, she remains to be an essential element in the show. Jim Hopper (David Harbour) believes she's still around. In the "one month later" scene, Hopper placed a Tupperware of food and an Eggo inside a crate in the woods. It's clear that Hopper has been feeding her all this time and that he's certain she's still alive in the real world.
"Obviously something happened to [Eleven] when she destroyed and killed that monster and we don't know where she went," creator Matt Duffer told Variety. "But we like the idea of potentially putting her and Hopper together."
Perhaps, Hopper will be the one to find Eleven or Eleven will appear to him in "Stranger things" Season 2.
As to how "Stranger Things" Season 2 will roll out, Duffer said in an interview with IGN that there's probably going to be a one-year time jump to accommodate the actor's growth.
"Gaten [Matarazzo, who plays Dustin], his voice has already dropped quite a bit, to the point where we couldn't even do ADR with him," Duffer said. "We had to pitch it way up. It's dropped. He's grown. As much as I would love to have it be Christmas right after that, it's just not feasible, so we're going to skip a year."
Most likely, "Stranger Things" Season 2 will be set in the Christmas of 1984 and will certainly "a little bit different... a little bit darker" than the first.
