On the heat of Zendaya and Giuliana Rancic's controversy, Zendaya found solace on how India Arie defended her. Arie, the 39 year old singer, is known by the public as one of those whom Zendaya idolizes. The young star has been quoted telling, "some people should listen to India Arie's "I am not My Hair" and contemplate a little before opening your mouth so quickly to judge."
Arie has been quoted praising Zendaya and at the same time defending her in public. She said that Zendaya is a beautiful young girl who is doing very well and is using her influence to the public. She also stated that she immediately wanted to jump into the scene to defend Zendaya as soon as she could.
A source told Just Jared that Arie beautifully worded in her blog "words of defense" for Zendaya. Arie said in her blog that 'sense of entitlement can blind people and can be a reason to offend other people's feelings'.
Though Arie did not call Rancic a racist, she stressed that Rancic's comments had something to do with Zendaya's race. This reaction from Rancic caused people to get mad. Arie further stated that she is not mad at Rancic, rather, she is sad of what the consequences of Rancic's actions might be. "We need more more compassion in this world. Period.", those were some powerful words from Arie's blog post on the issue.
