"Lucifer" returns on Sept. 19, 2016 with all new episodes and we have new cast joining the second season of the show. Decker's late father will be seen in "Lucifer" Season 2 episodes and Chris Payne Gilbert has been roped to play the part.

According to Entertainment Weekly, Gilbert will be seen as Officer John Decker, who served the LAPD as a beat cop.
John died in the line of duty and Chloe vowed to become a detective after his death. Chloe was a 19-year-old girl just starting his career in the movie industry. Gilbert will first appear as John Decker in "Lucifer" Season 2, episode 7. Chloe will come to know details about her father's death after ten years and she would try her best to give John the justice he always deserved.
Meanwhile, the Lucifer Writers Room Twitter account has released the title of Season 2 episode 8.

"In Season Two, LUCIFER MORNINGSTAR (Tom Ellis) and his brother, AMENADIEL (DB Woodside), who have been sparring over Lucifer's resistance to returning to the underworld, will now be brought back together for one common goal - to find their mother, CHARLOTTE (Tricia Helfer, "Battlestar Galactica"), who escaped Hell. After all, Lucifer doesn't take after his dad, so the parent he does resemble is sure to be quite terrifying. Lucifer's work with the LAPD also is upended when the police force hires ELLA LOPEZ (Aimee Garcia "The George Lopez Show"), a smart, tough forensic scientist whose mutual belief in both faith and science proves a point of interest to Lucifer.
