From sliding to 6th place in early August, “Descendants of the Sun” actress Song Hye Kyo has recovered and resumed being in 2nd place in the ongoing "Goddess of Asia" contest.
In first place is Chinese actress Zheng Shuang, reported Inquisitr. Fans of Song Hye Kyo have about 20 days to rally behind her for the Hallyu star to get the top spot on Sept. 25 when the winner will be declared.
Zheng Shuang, who is rumored to be paired with “Descendants of the Sun” actor Song Joong-ki in a Chinese drama, is a graduate of the Beijing Film Academy. The 25-year-old actress speaks English and Mandarin, and includes dancing, running and playing the piano as her hobbies.
Before China made a Hallyu ban, it was speculated that Song Joong-ki and Zheng Shuang would star in “You, The Scent of Love.” Also to join them are some crew of “Descendants of the Sun.”
However, because of the competition, fans of Song Hye Kyo are speaking negatively about Zheng Shuang. One fan wrote that she could not stand Zheng Shuang’s acting and delivery of her lines. Another called the Chinese actress a lousy female lead, while a third fan said people would think all Chinese actresses act like her and have poor acting skills.
Zheng Shuang was last seen in the TV version of the romantic movie “Love 020” where she played the leading lady, with Yang Yang as her leading man. The drama showed campus life and emotions of Chinese college students.
