Even though Pokemon GO is losing its daily number of active users, reports still claim that it is still very popular. With a Pokemon tracking tool still unavailable on the game, players are still hunting for a reliable tool that can help find Pokemon without getting banned. Niantic and Google have now teamed up to provide a viable solution.
Google Maps app is now updated and its Timeline feature has been tweaked to help players find Pokemon easily. To use it, players need to activate location tracking and then navigate to "Your Timeline. If location tracking has not been activated, it will prompt users to enable it.
The Timeline feature on Google Maps shows a record of places you have been to, what time you gone to those places and related information. By tapping on the travel icon, users will be able to see a new activity of "Catching Pokemon" listed in the Timeline, Android Police reported. Reddit user, GoldLeader222 is the first one to reveal the trick.
The addition of Catching Pokemon in Google Maps will make it possible to make log information of Pokemon catching activities. It is a handy feature that will help players know at which places and at what time they have caught Pokemon.
Players can share this information to friends as well as on Pokemon GO community. In other words, players can inform others about the particular time and place they caught Pokemon.
It is not a real-time Pokemon tracker like PokeVision but if many players make use of the Catching Pokemon feature on Google Maps, players can help each other in informing the occurrence of various kinds of Pokemon.
Pokemon GO players are waiting for the enhanced version of Nearby tracker that was originally present. It was removed in August it could not track Pokemon properly.
In one of the recent updates, Niantic had released an updated edition of Nearby to select players. Hence, the company is expected to release the feature in the next update.
