Pokémon Go is taking the world by storm and fans of the hugely successful location-based AR sensation can now purchase a wearable accessory for the mobile game called Pokémon Go Plus as soon as next week.

Pokémon Go Plus is a wearable device from Nintendo and will be available to players in "much of the world" on Sept. 16, Pokémon Go creators Niantic announced on the official website on Wednesday (Sept. 7).

The device, priced at $35, will make it easier for Pokémon Go trainers to catch Pokémon, including the most elusive and rare ones, while the phone remains in their pocket and eliminates the need for players to constantly look at their screen.

The companion device, which can be worn on the wrist or as a pin, comes with Bluetooth connectivity and allows players to collect items and capture Pokémon with the press of a button.

For instance, as a player walks through a PokéStop, the Pokémon Go Plus device will vibrate and glow, notifying the player that there is a PokéStop nearby.

Users will also be able to collect items such as PokéBalls and Pokémon Eggs simply by pressing a button on the Pokémon Go Plus device. The accessory also alerts players about the presence of nearby Pokémon, which players can capture and later identify with the help of the journal.

The Pokemon Go Plus was initially scheduled to hit store shelves in July, when Pokémon Go made its debut, but Nintendo delayed the release, saying that it needed more time to ensure that the device and the game are in sync and work well together, according to Polygon.

During Apple's iPhone 7 event on Wednesday (Sept. 7), Niantic revealed that a Pokémon Go app for the Apple Watch is in development and includes features that are similar to the ones offered by the Pokémon Go Plus device.
