The upcoming movie ''Geostorm'' which faced release date problems quite a few times finally got the release date of Oct. 20, 2017 in the United States. Robert Sheehan is all set to play the role of Duncan in the upcoming American science fiction disaster action thriller.
As per the latest updates, Sheehan is hoping to be lined up in the same scale as Colin Farrell or Micheal Fassbender after the movie ''Geostorm'' is released. He will play the role as an astronaut in this €100 million Hollywood blockbuster. He is playing the role of a budding spaceman and will share the screen space with Gerard Butler (the main protagonist as Jake) and will try to save the world from an apocalyptic storm.
Sheehan is extremely excited about this project. "Geostorm is sort of a near future type sci-fi movie where global warming has essentially exacerbated the weather on Earth which has become humanity's greatest threat. There's floods happening and droughts and that sort of s***'' is what he talked candidly about this upcoming movie.
Much about Sheehan's role is not yet revealed, however, this 28 year old Irish actor is going places. The Australia based British writer Ben Elton has announced his upcoming movie ''Three Summers'' and he will be donning the hat of the writer and director of the movie. This romantic comedy will feature Sheehan too, news.com.au reported.
Before signing on the dotted lines for this project, Sheehan had worked in films like ''Moonwalkers'' which was released on Mar. 14, 2015 in South by Southwest film festival and later on Jan. 15, 2016 in the US, ''The Messenger'' which was released on June 20, 2015 and a few others. His role as Jack in the British supernatural mystery horror film was appreciated by many. He plays the role of a man who could converse with the souls of the dead.
In ''Moonwalkers'' he played the role of Leon, and this limited release comedy movie even though was not meant for mass viewing gave a firm holding to his career. Sheehan has not worked in big-budget movies till now and with ''Geostorm'' which has a star cast of Butler as Jake, Katheryn Winnick as Olivia, Abbie Cornish as Agent Sarah, Jim Sturgess as Max and a few others, he can hope to bag some more coveted roles in the near future.
Sheehan who is best known for his role as Simon Lewis in the 2013 release ''The Mortal Instruments: City of Bones'' bagged the film ''Mortal'' which will be directed by André Ovredal. Recently it was reported that IM Global will launch the sales of this film in Cannes. Based on ancient Norwegian mythology, this movie will show Sheehan as a man who has god-like powers, Deadline reported.
