New details and possible spoilers for "Supergirl" season 2 as it features the reason Superman is in the show and Jeremiah Danvers transforms into Cyborg Superman.
Executive producer Andrew Kreisberg revealed the reason for Clark Kent/Superman's (Tyler Hoechlin) in "Supergirl" season 2 as the Man of Steel will team-up with his cousin, Kara Danvers/Supergirl (Melissa Benoist) in the first two episodes this season.
Season 2 of the show will feature Project Cadmus as the main villain group in the show as Kreisberg told TVLine that Cadmus will introduce "a chain of events" that forces Kara to seek help from her more experience cousin. Project Cadmus is a research program that is tied the DEO (Department of Extra-Normal Operations) and has been researching and experimenting on aliens.
Superman in season 2 will serve as a mentor figure to Kara as the Man of Steel will teach her how to integrate both parts of her life as both normal civilian and a hero into one.
Previous reports revealed that Superman will be fighting one of his most formidable foes, Metallo due to a leaked footage from Twitter username Emily. The scene features Superman in a fight with Metallo as Clark was able to gain the upperhand against the cyborg villain.
In other news, there are rumors making rounds that "Supergirl" season 2 could introduce another classic Superman villain in the form of Cyborg Superman.
It is theorized that Cyborg Superman's possible existence could be made by Project Cadmus and they will use Kara's adopted father Jeremiah Danvers (Dean Cain) as guine pig for Cyborg Superman, Cinemablend reported.
Cyborg Superman in the comics is Hank Henkshaw, a former NASA spacecraft pilot whos body decayed after being exposed by radiation. His consciousness went inside the space craft were Clark was transported from Krypton to Earh. Hank became a cyborg version of the Man of Steel and claimed to be him during the "Death of Superman" arc and has fought the original Superman.
Project Cadmus abducted Jerimiah Danvers after Martian Manhunter (David Harewood) and Alex Danvers (Chyler Leigh) found out that he is alive. Martian Hunter pretended to be Hank Henkshaw after he was killed and led the DEO at the same time looked after Jeremiah's daughters as he promised.
It is theorized that Hanks was not killed and Project Cadmus will somehow transfer his mind to Jeremiah and tranformed him into a weapon using alien technology.
"Supergirl" will air on Oct. 10 on the CW Network.
