Apple was all over the headlines recently following the official unveiling of the iPhone 7 and Apple Watch 2. Also announced was the coming of iOS 10, something set to roll out starting September 13.

Much of the revelations in San Francisco hardly surprised many, confirming the new products the Cupertino company was set to release. But most intriguing of them all is perhaps the iOS 10 which will eventually patch up the recently released iOS 9.3.5.

Looking back, iOS 9.3.5 was released not to thwart Pangu’s iOS cracks but to address a security issue brought up by Citizen Lab. This was tied up to that celebrated “Pegasus” issue which allowed hackers to take advantage of security vulnerabilities, the New York Times reported.

Hence, Pangu found itself collateral damage and without a working iOS jailbreak since then. Now, the hacker group is once again in the limelight as they try to prove that the iOS 10 Jailbreak reveal at MOSEC 2016 was no fluke, Yahoo reported.

That iOS 10 jailbreak shown is technically the last card in the deck for Pangu. The crack was shown alongside other jailbreaks and should be something they can release in no time.

But like the other thwarted iOS 9 jailbreaks, Pangu does not have the luxury of time. Apple is expected to follow up with patches to iOS 10 should the developers find bugs and glitches similar to the previous versions.

All of it will depend on how Pangu is able to cope up with the changes made by Apple. The version they cracked was an early beta version and developers have already made necessary tweaks since then.

But the level to which they are at is far different from other jailbreaks they have worked on before. The fact that they were able to crack an early version of iOS 10 shows they are at an advanced level already. All they need to do know is figure out what adjustments Apple developers did since then.

Pangu is on the clock and they don’t have the luxury of time as before. Hence, the hacker group may want to release their iOS 10 jailbreak before September ends. Otherwise, it may be another botched attempt to break the Apple OS code.

Until that time comes, here are some reasons why Apple users should upgrade to the iOS 10.
