The British television series "Coronation Street" has a new actor joining the cast. Mark Moraghan who had previously acted in "Brookside" will now act as Aidan, reports the UK's Mirror. Aidan is a new character that meets Eileen Grimshaw (Sue Cleaver) when the latter resorts to internet dating in her (thus far, vain) quest to find a lover and husband.
An official spokesperson for "Coronation Street" said that Moraghan will be a part of the cast for a few months and will start to appear in episodes starting from April of this year. In addition to portraying Greg Shadwick in "Brookside" Moraghan has acted as Ray Wyatt in "Dream Team", Owen Davies in "Holby City" and is also a narrator for "Thomas and Friends", a children's TV show.
Eileen's previous relationship with Paul Kershaw, a fireman, went sour when they starting fighting over the occupational hazards of his job.
Mark has reportedly already filmed his first episodes in Weatherfield, according to The Huffington Post. He has written of this on Twitter: "And so to be. 500 mile round trip drive today for a pint in The Rovers. Can't beat Newton and Ridley. Thanks for all your good wishes. (Good) night."
"Coronation Street" is a hit UK soap opera that has been running on television since 1960 and is made by Granada television. Its fans also lovingly refer it to as "Corrie". Its events take place in the fictional town of Weatherfield.
