Bethesda Studios already confirmed its plans for the much-awaited "The Elder Scrolls 6," but there is no information about the development and the release date. The sixth installment in "The Elder Scrolls" franchise was initially believed to arrive sometime in 2018, but with the recent reports and the revelation of the developer's other projects; the wait may be a little bit longer.
The game developer's vice president Pete Hines previously assured aficionados via Express UK that "TES 6" is definitely a part of Bethesda's plans. However, Hines was quick to clarify that the game is not an immediate priority for now.
"It's coming, just not as soon as you probably hoped," Hines told the publication. "We aren't working on 'TES6' at the moment."
Amid the disheartening news, avid fans are still optimistic that updates will soon come out about the anticipated title. Many were event disillusioned when "The Elder Scrolls 6" was absent at Gamescom earlier this year.
The game developer has focused all its efforts on the two upcoming projects before embarking on "The Elder Scrolls 6," according to Game N Guide. Bethesda is yet to reveal the titles of the two projects, and therefore, it is uncertain whether they are sequels or new games entirely.
The studio appears to be in hot water with its fanbase lately, particularly with the issues around "Fallout 4" and its PS4 mods. Fans can only hope that Bethesda releases some information soon.
Meanwhile, it may not be true that "The Elder Scrolls 6" will be adopting a virtual reality (VR) format. While the industry is slowly and steadily evolving to have the VR come out soon, it seems Bethesda is not keen on VR support for its much-rumored title, "The Elder Scrolls 6."
For now, aficionados can look forward to the release of "The Elder Scrolls V: Skyrim" Special Edition that is slated for a release on Oct. 28. Watch the footage below for more information on "The Elder Scrolls 6."
