However, when the episode ended, Derek's wife's best friend wasn't there to show Meredith (Ellen Pompeo) support.
However, "Grey's Anatomy" cast member Kevin McKidd said that Cristina was definitely there at Derek's funeral even though it was just in spirit.
While speaking with TV Line, McKidd said that the woman standing beside Meredith at Derek's funeral was actually Cristina. Even though it wasn't really Oh, the unnamed character attended the emotional gathering to symbolize Cristina's attendance.
"Cristina was there. I presume Sandra was busy and unavailable for that episode, which was the only reason why a body double was used. That funeral sequence was meant to imply that Cristina was obviously there for Meredith. Her presence was felt," he said.
