Alien enthusiasts are gunning for UFOs with more zeal after celebrated entrepreneur Elon Musk said that he could not rule out the involvement of an unidentified object or weapon in the explosion of the SpaceX Falcon 9 rocket. In a related news update, now Pentagon is also running a unit solely devoted to the purpose of hunting UFO.
Elon Musk commented on Twitter on Friday that he has not ruled out a UFO hitting the SpaceX Falcon 9 rocket, resulting in a massive explosion, reports Zero Hedge. According to the news outlet, his statement has caused a furor of sorts on social media, giving UFO zealots more ammo to come up with new and bizarre theories.
Notably, Musk's statement comes one week after the much-debated footage from the SpaceX explosion video that had people saying that a black object was hovering near the rocket, a few seconds before the explosion. Though many of the YouTube viewers had pointed out that it could be a bug or bird (due to the speed of the mysterious object), things changed after Musk gave out the statement.
The entrepreneur's suggestion that it could be the handiwork of outside elements altered the SpaceX explosion narrative a good deal. Musk had said that the explosion was really a fast fire and his team was unable to figure out the mechanical reason that led to the failure of the rocket.
Later, in response to a Twitter user's idea that the explosion sounded like a metal joint breaking under pressure, he stated that the team could not find any such joint on any vehicle sensors, and thus, the UFO speculations got steam.
In related development, now Pentagon is running a UFO-hunting unit in London's Soho Square from an undisclosed place, claims RT News. The US military agency has renewed the axed unit of the UK and it is currently under the supervision of a US colonel.
Funded by the American military agency, the majority of the staff belongs to the US but a few Britons are also in the squad. At present, much of its work is about space militarization but in future, it will also delve into X-Files.
