The hit MBC drama "W - Two Worlds" is set to cap off its 16-episode run with a suspenseful final episode. Cast member Lee Jong Suk has shared his thoughts on the series' finale and revealed that he would like to see a sad ending to his character's story.
Avid viewers of "W" have witnessed the various challenges and threats that Lee's Kang Chul and co-star Han Hyo Joo's character Oh Yeon Joo have had to face in the past 15 episodes. The MBC drama's upcoming series finale is expected to tie up loose ends and reveal the fate of beloved characters. At this point, it is still unsure if Kang and Oh will have the happy ending that they both longed for.
On the hand, Lee may have another ending in mind for the two characters. In an interview with the production company Chorokbaem Media, the actor was asked about his thoughts on the drama's finale, All Kpop reported. He replied that he would want a sad ending for the series' final episode.
The "Pinocchio" star explained that he was unsure if a happy ending will be a good fit for the MBC drama. Lee made mention of the hardships that Kang and Oh both endured in "W." He also commented on how he thinks a sad ending would also be appropriate for the series.
Lee shared that while some viewers may feel unhappy over the said ending, it would make the drama more memorable. Despite the heartache that a sad ending may bring, he stated that it would also be understandable provided the said storyline is delivered smoothly.
However, the actor also mentioned that the drama's end would depend on the screenwriter. Lee added that part of him would also want Kang and Oh to have a happy future together. He indicated that the best scenario for both characters would be a classic storybook ending involves a happy life together with their family and friends.
