The South Korean network KBS has several dramas on its current broadcast line-up that have posted strong viewership ratings. Similar to the hit historical series "Moonlight Drawn by Clouds," the new slice of life series titled "The Gentlemen of Wolgyesu Tailor Shop" has also earned double-digit ratings.
The said series that features the life and challenges of four individuals working at a tailor shop premiered in late August. Its first episode posted a rating of 22.4 percent, according to Korea Portal. However, "The Gentlemen of Wolgyesu Tailor Shop's" viewership share recently crossed the 30 percent mark.
The KBS drama achieved a nationwide rating of 30.2 percent for its sixth episode that aired on Sept. 11, Sunday. On the other hand, the said episode's viewership level across Seoul reached 27.6 percent, as indicated in the same report.
The Saturday-Sunday KBS family drama also features some of South Korea's veteran stars and talented celebrities such as Shin Goo, La Mi Ran, Cha In Pyo, Oh Hyung Kyung and Kim Young Ae. The series' cast members also include Choi Won Young, "A Frozen Flower" actor Hyun Woo, as well as Jo Yoo Hee who starred in the tvN drama "Pied Piper" and "Lovers in Paris" actor Lee Dong Gun.
Among the star-studded cast, La and Cha play the lead characters in the KBS drama. La portrays Sun Nyeo who is married to Cha's Sam Do. The drama contains story elements about family, friendship, work and love. It is also expected to reach the same rating's success as "Five Enough," the KBS drama that aired prior to "The Gentlemen of Wolgyesu Tailor Shop's" debut, as stated in the same report.
Meanwhile, another KBS drama that has seen strong viewership ratings would be "Moonlight Drawn by Clouds" that stars Park Bo Gum. The historical series recently passed the 20 percent rating's mark with episode 7 that aired on Sept. 12, Monday, Soompi reported. Viewership share for the said episode reached 20.4 percent which is higher than the previous week's rating of 18.8 percent.
"Moonlight Drawn by Clouds" airs every Monday and Tuesday while "The Gentlemen of Wolgyesu Tailor Shop" airs on Saturday and Sundays on KBS.
