Details about "American Horror Story" Season 6's plot has been kept secret. What is known about the season's theme is that it will revolve around children and will be more rouge and darker, in contrast to its previous season.
The sixth season, which was rumored to have a subtitle "American Horror Story: The Mist," will reportedly incorporate the notorious disappearance of 1590's Roanoke Colony. The news came to light after TMZ released some photos from "American Horror Story" set in Santa Clarita.
The newsoutlet has also spotted the cast members donned in Pilgrim-era clothing. What's more, the production designers have reportedly built a whole pilgrim house in an undisclosed California forest. It will serve as the season's chief setting.
At the Creative Arts Emmy Awards, screenwriter Ryan Murphy told Gold Derby that fans should just enjoy "American Horror Story" Season 6 as it is without uncovering its official theme and title. It is believed that the strategy could signify the show's suspense genre by astounding the viewers.
"It will be familiar and shocking," Murphy added. "We're playing with a different form, so it's not like any 'Horror' season you've ever seen. It's very, very radically different - the narrative structure of what we're doing."
"American Horror Story" Season 6 is scheduled to air on Sept. 14 on FX. Check out the trailer below:
