Before the success of "Pokemon Go" took the mobile gaming industry of today, "Plants vs. Zombies" franchise has been seen conquering the mobile technology in the past. But with the game transforming from a tower-defense video game into tapping the console world with "Plants vs. Zombies: Garden Warfare 2," its latest updates pack a whole lot of content which will create new experience for its players.
Developed and originally published by PopCap Games for Microsoft Windows PC, "Plants vs. Zombies: Garden Warfare 2" just released the game's free content update, dubbed as "Trial of Gnomus," as a new attraction to its familiar third-person shooter and tower-defense gameplay.
According to GameNGuide, this new update has garden gnomes as its central theme, a Cats vs. Dinos game mode, and a well-dressed vendor named "Rux," the Deal Breaker. On the new content, cats and dinos will be competing in elimination rounds (only available at limited times through Mystery Portal), while "Rux" will sometimes appear in the game's sewers and sell rare and high value items.
However, Mobile N Apps reported that the "Trial of Gnomus" free update will put the game into a new twist, with brand new content that will totally revise the whole experience which the game offers. It is speculated to add new limited-time card packs that allow players to access interesting merchandise from Infinity Time.
Aside from the mentioned game modes, "Plants vs. Zombies: Garden Warfare 2" will also feature the "Mystery Portal," a magic passage built by gnomes so that they could test the capacities of plants and zombies. Based on the new addition, players can pass through the Mystery Portal and play three new limited time game modes and gather Rainbow Stars that would unlock the Gnome Underworld and the Rainbow Chests.
As reported by GameNGuide, in the new map, "Trials of Eternity," players can also take part in a series of challenging gnome trials that will "test their velocity, shooting, puzzle solving and memory skills." By completing the Trials of Eternity, players can now unlock new rewards from the legendary customization items.
"Plants vs. Zombies: Garden Warfare 2" was released worldwide on Feb. 25 for video game consoles such as PlayStation 4, Microsoft Windows, and Xbox One.
