There's only a few weeks left until the highly-anticipated FX show "American Horror Story" Season 6 hits the small screen. Brad Falchuk and the rest of the cast and crew have been relatively quiet about what's up with Season 6, offering details just enough to keep everyone speculating.
One of the biggest rumors to hit "American Horror Story" Season 6 so far is Bradley Cooper's casting. It's common practice for the multi-awarded horror anthology to enlist big Hollywood names and Academy Award winners and nominees for the show, so Cooper's rumored casting sounds very exciting.
As to how this rumor came about, Cooper was spotted hanging out with Lady Gaga - the confirmed leading lady in "American Horror Story" Season 6 - in April this year, just a few months before filming for the series started.
A source told Us Magazine that the duo "might be working on a project together." It is presumed that this project is "American Horror Story."
Meanwhile, the "American Horror Story" Season 6 plot has kept fans peeled for new updates. The promotional materials do not reveal much, except that there was a monster crawling on rail tracks in the middle of what seemed to be a fog.
There has been 24 teasers released since, but FX CEO John Landgraf teased that only one of them is real and the rest are fake. The mystery, however, seemed to have been solved when Rotten Tomatoes revealed that complete title for the sixth season - "American Horror Story: The Mist." This detail was removed later, but not before fans could decode it.
Some say that the sixth season could be inspired by Stephen King's "The Mist." On the other hand, some are taking cues from hints that Ryan Murphy dropped months prior. He previously mentioned that the "American Horror Story" season 6 plot would involve "elements of children."
"If you look at horror tropes the innocence of children, that sort of wide-eyed entryway into some world, is always very dramatic and satisfying," Murphy said. This has led fans to speculate on the possibility of venturing into imaginary worlds and monsters. To coincide with this, FX's Stephanie Gibbons told The Hollywood Reporter that Lady Gaga's new single "Perfect Illusion" is "very much up the alley so we played with that."
Could the new season center on the imaginative minds of children and the horrors that come with it? Could Bradley Cooper play a parent to one of these children? Find out when "American Horror Story" Season 6 premieres on Sept. 14.
