"W - Two Worlds" premiered July 20, 2016, and it soon became enormously popular. The fantasy drama consistently garnered decent rating and became a household name. However, the open ending of the story has led to a rise of speculations revolving around Season 2.

The finale saw the father sacrifice his life for his daughter. Meanwhile, the couple reunites in the real world.

"Kang Chul's story in the manhwa was a happy ending, but the real-life Kang Chul and Oh Yeon-joo's ending is still unknown. But..." Yeon-joo narrates as quoted by Drama Beans.

"The two of them no longer stand at the crossroads of life and death like a manhwa, and although boring and ordinary, we hope that they will get an ending that lasts fifty years. Like other ordinary couples," Kang Cheol adds.

In the meantime, Movie News Guide is reporting that there have been no discussions about it and an announcement is yet to be made. The website speculates that the enormous fan following might force the network to consider Season 2 for "W - Two Worlds."

According to the website, if the announcement is made by the end of this year, it is expected to premiere in 2017. As for the star cast, Hyo-joo and Jong-suk are expected to reprise the roles if the show returns for the second instalment.

Fans must note these are mere speculations. The network is yet to make an announcement.
