''PK'' is another movie of Aamir Khan which crossed 792 crore INR in the box-office and the director Rajkumar Hirani was keen to make a sequel of the same. However, as per the latest updates, he wants to be cautious before he decides to make the sequel.
According to Hindustan Times, since several Hindu organisations vandalised theatres screening the film and demanded to ban the movie, Hirani wants to test waters before filming the sequel. "After the amount of bashing we got for it, we would rather be careful with PK. Munnabhai (2003), of course, will have a sequel. We want to make one for 3 Idiots (2009). Let PK be for a while, unless we can use the alien to do something else'' Hirani spoke candidly about his future plans.
The ground for a sequel was set in the original movie when Khan the protagonist PK returns back to earth on his spaceship along with another alien (played by Ranbir Kapoor). Viewers thought that now the sequel will revolve around a plot which will also have Kapoor in a significant role. However, it seems the protests have put the plans of a sequel to the back burner for the time being. Khan's near to nude posters in the prequel too had created a lot of uproar amongst the orthodox groups.
The sequel of ''PK'' is expected to bring in a lot of moola for the producers Vidhu Vinod Chopra and Hirani. Chopra is a director turned producer and has been giving blockbuster hits for a long time now. This movie had crossed $120 Million USD worldwide, reported Deadline and remained the highest grossing Bollywood movie ever.
In other news, Hirani and Khan have confirmed that they have started working on the sequel of ''3 Idiots'' which was loved by the audience of the metro cities and abroad. The fans of Khan will have to be happy with this sequel rather than waiting for the sequel for ''PK.'' The fans were hoping to see young Kapoor and veteran Khan together as aliens, however, it looks like now Khan will play the role of Kapoor's father in a Sanjay Dutt biopic which will be directed by Hirani soon.
