The body of Hong Kong actress Gigi Leung, as well as the behavior of the person within the body, has received a great deal of attention since the celebrity first announced her pregnancy in September of last year.
However, the response to Leung's Chinese New Year festive pictures, uploaded to the Internet this week, has led to a greater emphasis on the warmth that she experienced during the holiday period through her relationships.
At the time of the 2014 announcement, the 38-year-old Hong Kong resident, who is also known for her singing, disclosed before a public gathering that she was three and a half months pregnant.
Since the news was publicized, local media sources proceeded to report that Leung was rarely seen outside of her home residence.
The pattern remained consistent during the Spring Festival, as Hong Kong reporters relayed that the expectant mother received visitors instead of acting as one outside the boundaries of her property.
Leung's decision to remain homebound was not unusual, as she is due to deliver her baby next month. While in her eighth month of pregnancy, the actress and singer was visited by friends and family, including celebrity pals like Malaysian singer-actress Angelica Lee, who was accompanied by colleagues.
In response to Lee's visit, the heavily pregnant celebrity wrote:
"What a rare occasion for all of us to be together just so I can soak up the festive vibes. Thank you for giving me an unexpectedly vibrant Lunar New Year!"
However, Leung's physical appearance did not completely escape public scrutiny, as one netizen commented: "(Your) little princess is so big now!"
