The KBS series "Moonlight Drawn by Clouds" that stars Park Bo Gum, as well as Lee Joon Gi's drama "Scarlet Heart Ryeo" have each seen a slight jump in ratings. The viewership share of both Korean dramas have posted an increase as compared to the previous week's ratings.
The two historical series continue its fierce competition to secure the highest ratings among the dramas in the same Monday-Tuesday time slot. Park's drama "Moonlight Drawn by Clouds" has retained its top spot with its ninth episode that posted a viewership share of 21.3 percent, according to Soompi. The ratings for the said episode that aired on Sept. 18, Monday, has shown an increase as compared to the previous episode's rating of 19.7 percent.
On the other hand, Lee's drama "Scarlet Heart Ryeo" has also posted an increase in viewership share. The SBS drama's eight episode that aired on the same day has registered a rating of 6.9 percent. The said episode's rating is higher by 1.1 percentage points as compared to the series' episode 7.
However, the SBS drama is still far from achieving the same level of success as its competitor "Moonlight Drawn by Clouds." The KBS series has broken through the 10 percent rating mark with its third episode that aired in late August. However, "Scarlet Heart Ryeo" has yet to post double-digit ratings since it premiered in Aug. 29, Monday.
Meanwhile, Park along with his co-star Kim Yoo Jung have shared a special message to the avid viewers of the KBS drama. In a video message that KBS released on its social networking services (SNS) on Sept. 14, Wednesday, the two Korean stars thanked the drama's fans for their support, All Kpop reported.
The KBS series has been one of the popular South Korean dramas that posted strong viewership ratings. Park and Kim also conveyed their gratitude for the interest and love that loyal viewers have displayed for the drama. The two celebrities ended their video message with an invitation to fans to continue watching the historical series.
