"Law & Order: Special Victims Unit" Season 18 will not be smooth sailing for elite agents, starting off with Marisk Hargitary who will be haunted by the past.
Weeks before the inception of "Law & Order: SVU" Season 18, various conferences and publicity has been organized and attended by casts and producers of the popular series, where they hinted bits and pieces of what is in store for viewers in the upcoming series.
So far, reports on Hargitary's dilemma in the upcoming season is limited to her guilt over the death of one of her agents, Mike Dodds (Andy Karl). It can be remembered that the sudden death of Dodds was the last thing that happened in the previous season.
In addition, Hargitary will also be involved in romantic issues with Tucker as the latter offers her a new life with him. In support of the speculation by many that Tucker will play a significant role in "Law & Order: SVU" Season 18, Rick Eid, one of the starring characters in the show, mentioned that the relationship with Tucker will indeed be much more complicated.
Aside from Hargitary, Carisi will also be put in a tight situation as he will be torn between leaving the SVU and staying with the District Attorney's Office. His decision will significantly have an impact to Rollins as the two have gotten much closer in the previous season.
Meanwhile, the first few episodes of the upcoming season are already out. The first episode titled "Terrorized" will feature the much awaited fight between Raul Esparza and Benson over a controversial case. While the following episode titled "Imposter" will have Callie Thorne and Wallace Langham do a cameo role to test Barba in some way.
"Law & Order: SVU" Season 18 is scheduled to premiere on Sept. 21 and will continue to air every Wednesday, 9 p.m. ET on NBC.
