Apple has officially issued macOS Sierra and the same will be powering the redesigned MacBook Pro 2016 on release date. But while the refreshed laptop remains missing in action, users were provided a preview of the upcoming feature upgrades and confirmed by the new operating system.
Below are but a few of the macOS feature bumps that will surely unbox with the MacBook Pro 2016:
Storage optimization
With storage configurations of up to 1TB, running out of disk space seems the least problem that MacBook Pro users will encounter. But in any case, macOS includes storage optimization. When set by users, the OS will automatically upload rarely used files to the iCloud the moment it senses that memory is running out.
iCloud
And yes, iCloud is now part of the MacBook deal, which costs just 99 cents per month of 50GB capacity or up to $10 each month for the whopping 1TB of cloud storage.
Siri for Mac
The Apple virtual assistant once exclusive to iPhone users has crossed over to the Mac platform. Hands-free control and assistance when performing certain tasks are now possible with Siri for Mac ready for action once macOS Sierra is installed.
Voice emails
And if one is too busy to check the mails, Siri will only be glad to read them aloud when desired, starting with macOS Sierra.
Remote or Touch ID unlocking
For old MacBooks, the devices can be remotely unlocked with the help of an iPhone or Apple Watch. For the MacBook Pro 2016, reports indicate that the device will have Touch ID embedded on the power button, which will eliminate the need for passwords when unlocking the laptop.
Apple Pay
Apple Pay is another iOS feature coming to the Mac, which means users will have access to a more secure and easier online or wireless transactions.
Picture in picture
If one wishes so, a YouTube or any video clip can be dragged to the corner of the MacBook screen and it will continue playing while working on a different window. Apple has decided to bring picture in picture to the Mac, which was first introduced with the iPad Pro.
Universal copy-paste
Another new useful productivity function is the universal copy-paste, which permits copying of text from the MacBook and pasting it on an iPad or iPhone then vice versa.
Rumors say Apple is set to introduce the MacBook Pro 2016, possibly with the upgraded MacBook Air 2016, anytime in October with the release date to follow immediately or to happen by November at the latest. Paired with macOS Sierra in powering the device is supposed to be Intel Skylake but speculations are wide that Kaby Lake could be on board.
