Xiaomi Mi 5s has been in rumors for couple of weeks now. Its high-end specs are speculated to disturb iPhone 7 sales.
Earlier this week, Xiaomi had teased an image that showed its upcoming flagship scored 164,119 on AnTuTu benchmarking app. Even though the rumor mill is calling the forthcoming flagship as Xiaomi Mi 5s, Xiaomi has reportedly confirmed on a Chinese social media site that there is no Mi 5s, Phone Radar reported. It further stated that the Xiaomi's next flagship will launch as Xiaomi Mi Note S.
However, according to Giz China, the upcoming flagship will be indeed called Xiaomi Mi 5s. It has confirmed the name of the device after examining the EXIF data of the photo that was snapped by the dual-camera of the same smartphone. The photo was shared by Xiaomi CEO, Lei Jun.
The invitation sent by Xiaomi has a big letter S and the Chinese firm is slated to hold its launch event on Sept. 27
Xiaomi Mi 5s Specifications, Features
According to recent leaks, the Xiaomi Mi 5S will come with 5.15-inch screen. It will support full HD resolution of 1080 x 1920 pixels.
The device will be powered by Snapdragon 821 chipset and 6 GB of RAM along with an internal storage of 256 GB. It is also expected to be available in another variant that will include 4 GB of RAM and 128 GB of storage.
The device will be loaded with Android 6.0.1 Marshmallow out of case, customized with MIUI 8 user interface. The device is rumored to feature ultrasonic fingerprint scanner. The leaked images show that the device will omit the physical home button like the recent iPhone 7 models.
It is expected to come with 16-megapixel dual rear camera according to a new teaser image. It will feature a 4-megapixel front facing camera. It is pegged to arrive with a 3,940 mAh battery.
