There have been certain revelations suggesting that there may be a paradigm shift in the role played by the Hound, unlike characterization in previous seasons. The Hound is mostly famous among the viewers as a companion of Arya Stark.
The Hound is expected to have a changed avatar in the "Game of Thrones" Season 7, according to Access Hollywood. There have been rumors Paul Kaye (Thoros of Myr) would be playing a more substantial role in the upcoming season, and would get more screen time as compared to the previous season.

On the contrary, the coalition does have a tough past wherein they have indulged into severe unrest and rivalry with Beric and the Hound fighting themselves to death in previous seasons.
