"Clash of Clans" (COC) avid fans have been clamoring for the much-rumored September massive update. While the month is almost over with no word from the game developer about the update, it is reported that Supercell has announced a maintenance break for "COC" servers - deemed "server upkeep."

The company might be upgrading the servers in readiness for the much-rumored September "COC" update. The imminent update is reported to bring a slew of new features to the hit mobile game, transforming the gameplay in general.

"Clash of Clans" tipster Chief spAnser said via Reddit that the game developer would release Sneak Peeks very soon. It is expected that Supercell would unveil the September "COC" update release date alongside the reveal of these sneak peeks. The Redditor added that "COC" servers have been upgraded to 8.41.x.

There is no much information about the upcoming "Clash of Clans" update, but it was unveiled via Supercell forum that players will be treated with the Clan Challenge feature. Furthermore, features such as the ability for players to mine gems for free have found their way online.

However, it was previously reported that the September "COC" update will happen in the third week of the month, something that has not come to fruition. Rumors are rife that the game developer will tweak "COC" in an attempt to outcompete Pokemon GO.

The upcoming update for "Clash of Clans" will reportedly be friendlier to both new players and veterans. Therefore, those still below Town Hall Level 11 will find "COC" more exciting after the update.

Furthermore, the game developer will bring a penalty system during the looming September update, according to MobiPicker. The developer has not yet provided specifics on what will entail the penalty system.

Meanwhile, if Supercell pushes through with the much rumored mine for free gem feature in the "COC" update, more players would be attracted and those who ditched the game would consider returning. Watch the footage below for more information.
