Update: Roman Reigns retains the WWE United States championship after his Clash of Champions rematch with Rusev ended in a double count-out.
Reigns, in his first reign as the US champion, started a bit slow as Rusev dominated the initial exchanges. The Bulgarian brute hit the Samoan Superman with suplexes and series of punches.
However, Reigns eventually gains his momentum, catching Rusev with a Samoan drop for a 2 count. After peppering Rusev with strong punches, Reigns followed it up with a spin kick for another 2 count.
They went back and forth with Rusev hitting a superkick and Reigns connecting with a Superman punch for near fall. Both men brought the action outside the ring, leading into a brutal fist fight outside the barricade. Referee ruled a doubled count-out, with Reigns retaining the title.
The New Day's 400 day reign as tag-team champions continues after besting Gallows and Anderson in the Clash of Champions rematch. A bleeding Kofi Kingston hit his finisher to retain the title for the New Day in a highly-physical contest.
New Day will be facing Sheamus and Cesaro, who were indeed given a title shot by Mick Foley following the controversial ending of their best-of-seven battle.
