The premiere season of "This is Us" debuted on Sept. 27, but it already amassed more than 10 million viewers making it the show's first hit. Series creator Dan Fogelman hinted the next three episodes of the new NBC drama will be "really really strong" and Episode 2 is expected to showcase what is ahead of the big twist that was revealed in its pilot episode.

During his interview with Entertainment Tonight, Fogelman revealed there will be an "emotional response" to the characters in the upcoming three episodes. When asked if they are going to feature an emotional moment every episode for the show, the creator quickly said it is very difficult to do, noting what they showcased in the premiere was not intentionally done to get the people's attention.

"I'm constantly surprised as to which of the moments really move me and they're not the moments that I'd expected. At a certain point a show kind of locks into what it is. I think we've done that very early here in our first couple of episode," Fogelman added.

As for its second episode entitled "The Big Three," Vox reported it will be a "reassuring hour of television" although it may not be as a big hit as the first episode. According to the publication, this will be the case since there had been twists that were revealed in the season premiere some of which should at least be tackled in the upcoming episode.

The report also added that although the program may seem like a typical TV drama, it actually reduced the show's characters to their plain selves. Kate trying to reduce her weight, Kevin being disappointed with his work, Jack being a supportive husband and the observations goes one.

With these speculations, "The Big Three" is expected to still carry the show's melodramatic theme, and a little bit of sentimental tinge. A different version of the series' pilot contained a line hinting Jack is going to die, although it is still unknown whether this will be tackled right away in the next episode, fans should watch out.
