Even if the reason cited by China in banning Hallyu actors and K-Pop stars from the country is Seoul’s deployment of the Terminal High Altitude Area Defense missiles, it seems Beijing made the right decision.

It’s because despite the clean looks of most K-Pop singers, a growing number of their songs have sexual content masked as fun or innocent numbers. AllKpop pointed out that while Korean boy bands tend to more blunt with their lyrics, citing “War of Hormones” by BTS, Korean girl bands “tend to hide behind their cute demeanors and metaphors when approaching these lyrics.”

The entertainment website listed more than 10 such K-Pop songs and explained why it was on the list.

Topping the list is “Closer” by OH MY GIRL. The title alone is oozing with sexual connotations, and it cited the most cringe-worthy lines sung by OH MY GIRL with innocent faces is: “Closer, I’m Closer, I’m Closer, I’m Closer, Can you hear my cry?” which appears to imply sexual intimacy.

The opening scene of the 3-minute, 50-second video, which has 5.2 million hits, even shows the girls dressed immaculately in white dresses with no cleavage exposures, although their skirts are quite short.

SISTAR’s “Push Push” has a lot of flair and fun, upbeat attitude, but the lyrics could be misheard to sound like “Oh, Pussy Baby,” which obviously does not refer to a cat. As for Dal Shabet’s “Pink Rocket,” the website said the pink rocket could stand for a lot of things, including naughty ones.

F(x)’s “Hot Summer” has a lot of orgasm-sounding moans such as “Ha-Ha-Hot” that are conveniently placed just when the lyrics are on the part that says, “From the classroom, To the office desk, To your Uncleaned room.” This 3-minute, 46-second video is a monster hit with more than 40 million hits.

From the fan point of view, Listverse made an enumeration of 10 horrifying realities from the Asian pop music world which includes obsessive female fans aged 13 to 22 whose obsession have reached unhealthy levels. Another is the anti-fans who are willing to verbally or physically abuse the celebrities such as what happened to Korean rapper Tablo, or Daniel Seon Woong Lee, who was attacked physically after he announced his engagement to actress Kang Hye Jung.
