The latest details and possible spoilers for "Doctor Strange" will feature the Eye of Agamotto as an Infinity Stone and Stephen Strange returns in "Avengers: Infinity War".
It seems that the rumors of the Eye of Agamotto being an Infinity Stone in "Doctor Strange" the movie will likely be true as the films set and props master Barry Gibbs casually dropped a hint that the mystical amulet holds an object that suspiciously looks like an Infinity Stone.
Gibbs told ComicBook about the challenges of creating props that can hold up to both practical and digital effects during "Doctor Strange" and He mentioned that the Eye of Agamotto opened up to reveal a small stone inside. Marvel president Kevin Feige stated that that the Eye of Agamotto was so powerful, it will be dangerous if fallen to the wrong hands and it can manipulate any probability, even time itself.
This led to the speculation that the Eye of Agamotto could be the Time Stone in the Marvel Cinematic Universe as Gibbs revealed that the color of the stone is pale green. Four Infinity Stones were already introduced in the MCU such as the Tesseract/Space Stone from the "Captain America: First Avenger" and "The Avengers" , the Aether/Reality Stone from "Thor: The Dark World", the Power Stone in "Guardians of the Galaxy" and the Mind Stone in "Avengers: Age of Ultron".
The Time and Soul Stones are not yet introduced in the MCU and comic book fans will likely want to see another Stone within the plot of "Doctor Strange" soon.
In other news, "Sherlock" star Benedict Cumberbatch confirmed that he will reprise his role as Doctor Stephen Strange in third "Avengers" film, "Avengers: Infinity War".
Cumberbatch told Empire Magazine (via The Express) that the next thing he will do on his schedule to align himself with actors Robert Downey Jr. Chris Hemsworth, Elizabeth Olsen and Paul Bettany. With that being said the Sorcerer Supreme will lend his talents with Earth's Mightiest Heroes in their fight against the Mad Titan Thanos (Josh Brolin) as he collects all of the Infinity Stones.
With the Eye of Agamotto being a potential Infinity Stone, no doubt that Doctor Strange will be targeted by Thanos along with Vision, who has the Mind Stone.
The plot of "Avengers" Infinity War will be based on the "Infinity Gauntlet" comic book storyline as Thanos will gather all of the Infinity Stones and cause chaos in the Universe in order tot impress Death itseld. It is rumored that Hela (Cate Blanchett) in "Thor:Ragnarok" will double as death in the film.
"Doctor Strange" is scheduled to release in cinemas on Nov. 4.
