Finally, the stars of “Descendants of the Sun” have spoken to debunk the many rumors that have hounded Song Joong-ki and Song Hye Kyo. The speculations – such as the two having a secret romantic relationship and planning to marry – reached a peak toward the approach of the actor’s 31st birthday on Sept. 19.
After the actor’s natal day, neither Song Joong-ki nor his agency, Blossom Entertainment, made any official statement about his birthday. Some websites also noticed that Song Hye Kyo did not greet Song Joong-ki on Sept. 19 a “Happy Birthday,” although it conceded that she could have done it personally by phone.
With the two “missing in action,” some fans interpreted it as the Hallyu stars using the special occasion to go on a private getaway. It was further fueled by Song Hye Kyo posting on Instagram some picture with spectacular locations which some followers thought were taken in the mountains of Norway, based on the images of a log cabin on a mountain top.
With no marriage proposal taking place, the tech and entertainment website which peddled those rumors created new speculations after Song Joong-ki’s birthday. This time, they claimed a wedding have taken place and she is expecting a baby.
The two must have it up to their heads with the constant publication of false reports about them that on Friday, their labels addressed the rumors squarely. “It’s definitely not true. It’s ridiculous. We’re just laughing about it,” AllKpop quoted their labels.
Song Joong-ki and Song Hye Kyo remain good friends but that is all to their relationship, nothing romantic.
