NVIDIA could be launching the GeForce GTX 1080 Ti Pascal video card at CES 2017 for those gamers who want a powerful video card without the price of the Titan X.

The Pascal GPUs from NVIDIA has a significant performance boost over the Maxwell architecture from over a year ago. NVIDIA's GTX 1080 and GTX 1070 took the high-end spot as AMD's Radeon RX 480 Polaris card does not have the power to take on the former.

Loyal followers of NVIDIA know that the GTX 1080 Ti variant is up next after the company revealed their Titan X Pascal card. Analysts and fans speculated that the Titan variant will be revealed after the mainstream market card GTX 1060 and they turned out to be right.

Chinese website Zol.com.cn posted that NVIDIA will launch the GTX 1080 Ti during the CES 2017 event in January, PC Gamer has learned. The GPU maker has not commented on the speculations yet but it only makes sense considering their past launch patterns.

NVIDIA GTX 1080 Ti Specs and Features

Since there is no official announcement yet or any leaked spec sheets, only rumors and speculations are available. The new Pascal card could feature 3328 CUDA cores which is just around 200 shy of the Titan X's count.

The NVIDIA GTX 1080 Ti is also rumored to feature 12 GB GDDR5X memory which is almost double the normal 1080 or GTX 1070 model, iTech Post reported. Of course, the company will still need to confirm the specs in the near future.

NVIDIA could use the GP102 Pascal silicon for the GTX 1080 Ti but with less powerful specs compared to the Titan X. The boost clock could be set to 1623MHz but that could be overclocked to reach more than 2000Mhz as the current 1080's can even with just the reference cards.

NVIDIA GTX 1080 Ti Release Date and Price

Since the Titan X already costs over $1000, the new Pascal video card could be priced somewhere in between the 1080 and the former's tag. In that sense, the GTX 1080 Ti variant could cost around $800 and it could be released at CES 2017.
