The latest updates for "Resident Evil 7" will feature pre-order details, PC requirements and the sequel's several in-game developments.
Capcom announced several game details regarding "Resident Evil 7's" development as Managing Corporate Officer and Head of Consumer Games Development Jun Takeuchi stated that they had hard time developing the sequel due to the high-resolution performance of the PlayStation 4 and Xbox One consoles. Takeuchi and his team also decided to make the game compatible with the new PlayStation VR.
With the PS VR, they could not bring "Resident Evil 7" to market unless it had photorealistic graphics on par with live-action films. To create that level of quality, conventional production methods would take too long and would cost too much. Thus, Capcom had to rethink there strategy on how to they develop and promote their games and teased a new RE-Engine for the sequel.
Capcom added that they will incorporate 3D scanning and they are facilitating instant data creation by recording subjects in 360 degrees with one shot. Lead Programmer of the Technology Section Tomofumi stated that the features of the RE Engine is its ability to dramatically reduce the time required for various game development processes. For instance, the time required to test program changes has been reduced to 90 percent, and materials made separately by the developers combined in real time, enables them to be used to instantly create other materials.
As for the VR features, Capcom intends to make "Resident Evil 7" the leading game in the virtual-reality market. In order to succeed in both video game and VR markets, a balance between the wild instinct of inspiration and rationality of data analysis is indispensable. Being satisfied with the status quo means game over, WCCFTech reported.
