There is an alleged sex assault video circulating online, leaked on Monday, showing two suspected firefighters without their pants on. The 30-second video showed people mocking the two men with exposed genitals covered with black marks.
Hong Kong’s Fire Services Department is probing the incident despite not receiving any complaint or images. Nevertheless, it is looking deeper because the department gives great importance to discipline, especially if someone had broken disciplinary rules, according to the department’s spokeswoman.
Both men had upper garments, but their pants were opened and lowered. The first man had a blue T-shirt with the department’s logo. He was lying on a bed and attempting to cover his exposed manhood with his hands, but his hands were moved away by another person, while others were laughing.
The second man, who wore a navy polo top, also with the department’s logo, could not move because someone was holding him. Hands could be seen pulling down his pants until his genitals were seen, South China Morning Post reported. Their images were blurred, which made it harder for the department to identify the men involved.
There were two previous similar incidents within the department. In the first incident, a fireman complained mint oil was placed on his penis. The department suspended from duty seven fireman in October because of the sexual assault complaint filed by the male victim.
The second incident showed a fireman’s butt in which a cream-like substance is being smeared. The victim complained he was sexually assaulted by eight other firemen at the Tsim sha Tsui fire station.
Yang Kin-sang, chairman of the Hong Kong Fire Services Officers Association, said, “No matter whether it was filmed at work or in someone’s spare time or it was a case of humiliation or made just for fun, what happened in the video was intolerable.” He said that firemen, as adults, are expected to watch their conduct and must maintain greater integrity since they are part of disciplinary forces.
