At the Sakura Con which was held between March 25-26, it was announced that the movie ''Sword Art Online Ordinal Scale'' was done. Recently, it was announced that the movie will be released worldwide on Feb. 18, 2017.
The fans who have been reading the light novel series written by Reki Kawahara are familiar with the characters of the movie. Even the viewers of the TV anime series which were aired on Tokyo MX, GTV, GYT, tvk, TVS, TVA, RKB, HBC, MBS, AT-X, CTC, BS11 in Japanese, Adult Swim (Toonami) and Aniplex Channel in the US, TV5 in Philippines and ABC3 in Australia love this series. The popularity of ''Sword Art Online'' franchise has now resulted in the creation of a full-fledged movie.
According to Anime News Network, the original light novel author Kawahara is in the process of writing and entirely new story for the film. The storyline will start after the ''Mother's Rosario arc'' which the viewers saw on the TV anime series. During the long Easter weekend when the Sakura-Con at Washington Convention Center in Seattle this year, the fans got a chance to interact with the creator Kawahara and many other distinguished guests from the team of SAO.
Meanwhile, Matsuoka Yoshitsugu will give voice to the character of Kirito is a 30-year-old established voice artist. The fans are already familiar with his voice from the season 1 and season 2 of the anime series. Apart from that he has given voice to video games like "Granblue Fantasy" (as Black Cat Thief), "UNDER NIGHT IN-BIRTH" (as Chaos), "Sword Art Online: Hollow Fragment" (as Kirito), "Sword Art Online: Infinity Moment" (as Kirito) and many others.
There were some new character designs were revealed during the Dengeki Fall Festival which concluded on Oct. 2 Sunday. Yuna: the diva of ''Sword Art Online Ordinal Scale'' was introduced to the viewers, Crunchyroll reported.
