Many fans are expecting the Triple H and Seth Rollins feud to culminate at WrestleMania 33 next year in Orlando. However, the latest rumors suggest that Triple H vs. Rollins will happen at the 2017 Royal Rumble at the Alamodome in San Antonio.
The Triple H-Rollins feud started when The Game turned on The Architect and cost him the WWE Universal Championship. Even though Rollins has shown babyface tendencies since then, he has not turned in a full good guy.
According to Ringside News, the WWE is planning a big angle to officially turn him into Monday Night Raw's top babyface. It is quite obvious that Triple H and Rollins will face each other at the Grandest Stage of Them All next year in a Master vs. Protégé match.
However, the 2017 Royal Rumble is going to be held at the Alamodome in San Antonio, Texas. The stadium is a 65,000-seater and the WWE is looking to break the 1997 Royal Rumble record attendance of 60,477.
But the current problem for Vince McMahon's company is that the product is not at its highest and they will have difficulty in attracting a lot of fans. The 2017 Royal Rumble will be on January 29 but fans would find it expensive to go with WrestleMania 33 just more than two months away.
The WWE has to put a very big match card to attract fans and sold out the Alamodome. There were reports that Shawn Michaels and Stone Cold Steve Austin will be advertised for the event while The Undertaker is also being considered.
Other stars such as Brock Lesnar, John Cena and A.J. Styles will be in the event and more former superstars likely coming back. Triple H recently teased his in-ring return at the Royal Rumble via a post on his Twitter account.
According to The Inquisitr, Triple H vs. Rollins will likely happen at WrestleMania 33 but it can get pushed into the Royal Rumble if the ticket sales are down. Nevertheless, the WWE has to make all the adjustments since their product is taking hit on the ratings.
The NFL season has taken a lot of viewers and it will not change until the end of the football season. The ratings for Raw are historically low and the WWE needs to make a lot of noise to stay relevant. Check out the video below for the moment that started the Triple H-Rollins feud.
