Google has finally unveiled its new smartphones, Pixel and Pixel XL. The arrival of these phones indicates that the company has killed the Nexus series entirely.
Google Pixel, Pixel XL Specifications
The Google Pixel and Pixel XL smartphones come with similar specs and come with aluminum unibody design along with polished glass. The Pixel comes with a 5-inch full HD resolution whereas the Pixel XL supports quad HD resolution on their AMOLED screens. Both the displays are protected by Gorilla Glass 4.
Google Pixel and Pixel XL are powered by Snapdragon 821 chipset and 4 GB of RAM. Both the phones come in two storage options of 32 GB and 128 GB.
The lowest storage is meant for users who have most of their data online on Google Photos and Google Play Music. The 128 GB variants are meant for users who prefer to keep their data offline. Both the smartphones come with unlimited Google Photos storage support.
Both the devices come loaded with Android 7.1 Nougat OS and carries support for Daydream VR that will be available to the users in November. The Pixel and Pixel XL come with 12-megapixel rear camera with 1.55µm pixels and f/2.0 aperture lens. It is enabled with features like electronic image stabilization, Smartburst and HDR+, GSM Arena reported.
Both the phones offer Pixel Imprint fingerprint sensor, 3.5mm audio jack and USB Type-C port. The Pixel is powered by 2,770 mAh battery whereas the larger Pixel XL features a 3,450 mAh battery. Both the phones carry support for Quick Charge 3.0.
Google Pixel, Pixel XL price, release date
The Google Pixel and Pixel XL smartphones are available for purchase in countries like the U.S., the U.K, Canada, Germany and Australia. In India, it will be available for purchase from Oct. 13. The Pixel and Pixel XL smartphones come in color choices such as Quite Black, Very Silver and Really Blue (limited edition).
The 32 GB and 128 GB Pixel are priced at $649 and $749, respectively. The 32 GB and 128 GB Pixel XL are priced at $769 and $869, respectively. In the U.S, 32 GB and 128 GB variants of Pixel can be purchased through Verizon with monthly payments of $27 and $31, respectively. The 32 GB and 128 GB models of Pixel XL can be availed through monthly payments of $32 and $36 through the carrier.
The smartphone can be purchased unlocked through Google Store and these phones can be also used on Project Fi network, Phone Arena reported.
