Pokemon GO has 28 different medals (each divided into three types, bronze, silver and gold) that can be acquired by completing various activities in the game. Niantic is soon going to release a major update for Pokemon GO that will reward players with capture bonus when they earn a medal.
When Pokemon GO players complete certain activities as mentioned under the description section in the table below, they can earn respective medals. For instance, when players catch fighting type of Pokemon such as Caterpie, Weedle, Scyther and so on, they can get Bug Catcher medal.
By gathering more number of a specific medals, one can earn capture bonus that will effectively help in easily catching related type of Pokemon. For example, accumulating more number of Bug Catcher medal will result in increased rate of catching Bug Pokemon.

Niantic has only confirmed the capture bonus feature for Pokemon GO, but the feature is not yet available. Speculations indicate that the feature will arrive by the end of this week or next week, TheBitBag reported. More details on how the chart will be helpful in earning capture bonuses will revealed when the feature will be made available officially.
