After a few rounds of speculations, several sources have stated the iPhone 8 will be released by September 2017 and will undergo a makeover of its physical appearance and pack an edge-to-edge display.
It is expected that iPhone 8 will be better since it is the device's 10th anniversary next year. Some potential consumers withheld their purchase of the iPhone 7, hoping for an upgraded iPhone 8.
While Apple has not made significant changes to iPhone 7's design, it may give the 2017 iPhone a substantial make-over. The new Touch ID and camera are rumored to be built directly into its display which will remove the home button that is still present in the iPhone 7.
Recent reports suggested that the upcoming iPhone may pack edge-to-edge screen display and wireless charging features. The Cupertino-based company will address the dismay of some consumers over the removal of its headphone jack, which rendered it impossible to charge and listen to music at the same time.According to Mac Rumors, the upcoming iPhone's screen will be made from a flexible OLED in replacement of an LCD. This will allow the iPhone to consume lesser power and produce images with higher contrast.
Meanwhile, 9to5Mac extracted information from analyst Ming-Chi Kuo that the front and glass panel of the iPhone 8 will be more scratch resistant. The move was made in response to the gained popularity of the iPhone 7 Jet Black variant. Since the said version is prone to scratches, Apple may be improving this in the upcoming flagship.
Aside from the all-glass design predicted, the iPhone 8's over-all appearance may also be similar to the iPhone 4's design except for a larger screen size of 5.8 inches. Currently, iPhones are only sized to 4.7 inches for the standard size and 5.5 inches for the plus size.
In terms of release date, it is likely that Apple will continue to launch its new iPhone on September 2017. For the past cycles, the tech-giant has consistently released their flagship devices around this time.
Readers are advised to take everything a grain of salt as it is still a few months away before the next iPhone is released. For other details about the iPhone 8, watch the video below.
