Aired on Oct. 6, Thursday, episode 3 of "Grey's Anatomy" Season 13 showed Arizona's (Jessica Capshaw) reaction over Alex's (Justin Chambers) attack on DeLuca (Giacomo Gianniotti). Arizona will soon find herself in a complicated relationship between the two doctors, according to Capshaw.
Arizona will have to deal with the aftermath of the Alex and DeLuca incident given her friendship with the two doctors in upcoming episodes of the ABC show "Grey's Anatomy." Capshaw shared in an interview with Entertainment Weekly that her character will feel conflicted about the said situation.
Similar to some of the doctors in Grey Sloan Hospital, Arizona will have a difficult time dealing with the violent incident, according to Capshaw. Supporting her mentor Alex or showing compassion for her roommate DeLuca in the impending trial will be a sensitive subject in upcoming episodes.
The situation will also result to two factions where some doctors will support DeLuca while a few will remain loyal to Alex. At this point, it is still unclear if Arizona will choose Alex given her reaction over the violent incident as featured in episode 3.
However, Capshaw commented that despite her character's anger towards Alex, Arizona will eventually return to his side as a supportive friend. She added, "You can't kick a dog that's already down, and he is down."
Elsewhere in the interview, the actress also shared her thoughts about Arizona's new love interest in the ABC series' Season 13. The identity of the said character has yet to be revealed although Capshaw stated that it would fun to see Arizona paired up with someone confident, funny and sexy.
The new chapter in Arizona's love life after her relationship with Callie (Sara Ramirez) would be an exciting storyline to explore, according to the actress. She also made a similar statement during an interview with The Hollywood Reporter where Capshaw teased of her character's new love interest.
A romance filled with lively banter and fun, sexy times would serve as a good experience for Arizona who has gone through so much following her separation with Callie. Capshaw stated, "It would help if there was a heat to it. I hope it's fun, sexy and exciting."
