The wife of "Game of Thrones" actor Nikolaj Coster-Waldau, Nukaaka Motzfeldt Coster-Waldau, is too busy to watch television. The former Miss Greenland has not watched even the world's most popular fantasy series in which her husband plays Jaimie Lannister, one of the characters who survived in all the six seasons.
The 45-year-old former beauty queen singlehandedly takes care of the family when Nikolaj is at work. She would become too occupied and will not have time for TV. The multi-Emmy awarded fantasy drama which has gained massive following worldwide, is never shown in Nikolaj and Nukaaka's home.
Nukaaka is not the only one not watching "Game of Thrones." Her children Philippa Coster-Waldau, 15, and Safina Coster-Waldau, 12, are not allowed by their father to watch the show.
Nikolaj decided not to allow his daughters to watch HBO's massive hit after Safina saw a clip of one of his movies. The trailer showed him crying which made her upset. He saw the need to separate his job as an actor from his family and personal life.
"Watching your father pretending as someone else is just too weird," the 46-year-old Danish actor told ABC News. "I was making out with other girls and that's just disgusting."
The storyline of Nikolaj's character in the epic drama has a controversial nature that could give any parent second thoughts on whether or not the show is appropriate for their children to see. His vain, child-murdering and king-slaying character has an incestuous relationship with his twin sister, Cersei Lannister (Lena Headey). Jaime secretly fathered the three children of her married sister.
Nikolaj is one of the highest-paid actors in "Game of Thrones," receiving an estimated salary of half million dollars per episode. The same amount of pay per episode is received by Headey as well as Peter Dinklage, Kit Harington and Emilia Clarke, who play Jaime and Cersei's brother Tyrion Lannister, Jon Snow and Daenerys Targaryen, respectively, according to Variety.
There is no assurance that the characters played by the said five actors would survive until the last season. The series is known to unpredictably ax any character in its plot, even the fan-favorites.
