Niantic hopes to lure back “Pokemon Go” players who have gone astray with the list of planned new features expected to ramp up the hit augmented reality game in 2017. That includes the new ‘Catch Bonus’ feature which may improve the odds of catching rare pocket monsters.
One of the issues that “Pokemon Go” players are ranting about has to do with the chances of capturing the rare breed on the current version of the augmented reality game. Many are under the impression that game developers have not yet integrated them into the codes though all that could be appended when “Pokemon Go” Gen 2 rolls out, Kotaku reported.
If so, this supports the dish of Niantic on the improved chances of catching rare Pokemon. The catch bonus would include earning medals based on capturing certain types of “Pokemon Go” creatures assuming that they are of a related type, the Pokemon Go website reported.
There are however some things worth noting. One is that the new “Pokemon Go” feature will be applicable to a select breed and the critters with multiple type will only tackle the average of the bonuses for each type.
An example would be Pidgey who is a normal and flying type. Doing the match, the bonus will result in the average of the normal-type and flying-type bonuses.
Gym training on “Pokemon Go” will also be something to look forward to. Trainers will be allowed to bring in as much as six Pokemon to a friendly gym which is a slight improvement to the previous four critters allowable.
Along with trading reportedly set to come on “Pokemon Go”, Niantic hopes to bring back the players who went astray last July. The number of active players reportedly dwindled with belief that some may have lost interest due to bugs and game performance.
“Pokemon Go” has already rebounded by reclaiming the top spot on iTunes but Niantic seems far from content. With the new features, the player count may even rise as Niantic tries to stabilize the game and bring in more things for augmented reality players to do.
