Nice and Lyon are both coming off victories in round 8 and would like to keep on winning as they face each other this weekend.

The Eaglets is the only remaining undefeated team in the French top flight this season after eight rounds of competitions and the team would definitely want to stay that way versus the struggling Lyon side.

Nice defeated bottom three squad FC Lorient, 2-1, also at their home stadium of Allianz Riviera on Oct. 2 for a third straight win, as per Daily Mail Online.

Portuguese defender Ricardo Pereira opened the scoring in the 11th minute for the hosts but Lorient was able to find the equalizer with a goal from Cameroonian forward Benjamin Moukandjo one minute after the hour mark.

Newly-acquired striker Mario Balotelli netted the winner in the 86th but was sent off in stoppage time after getting booked with a second yellow card.

Head coach Lucien Favre's squad currently sits on top of the league table, only a point above second-running team AS Monaco.

Meanwhile, Lyon is currently struggling after opening the season with two consecutive wins. They had been winless in four of their last six matches since then as the team is now at the fifth place in the overall standings.

Les Gones pulled off a 2-0 blanking of middling squad AS St. Etienne at the Stade des Lumieres during their last game also on Oct. 2, via ESPN.

Spanish midfielder Sergi Darder and Algerian winger Rachid Ghezzal were the goalscorers for head coach Bruno Génésio's side in the 41st and 88th minutes respectively to complete a clean sheet against St. Etienne.

French striker Alexandre Lacazette is still sidelined with a thigh injury and there is still no timetable for his return.
