The latest details for "Power Rangers" 2017 reboot will feature new character details and possible death of Yellow Ranger in the film.
It was during this year's New York Comic Con event that Lionsgate and Saban release the first teaser trailer of the "Power Rangers" 2017 reboot movie, which feature the classic 90's action superhero TV series return to the big screen.
As seen on the the trailer, the "Power Rangers" reboot will feature five troubled teenagers in Angel Groove as they discovered five mysterious power coins, which transformed them and gain powers. They soon discover that they were given these powers for a reason as dark and growing threat approches in Angel Groove and they must unite to defend their home.
Now, the official "Power Rangers" website revealed new character descriptions of all five Rangers in the film. The first of these is Jason, the Red Ranger (Dacre Montgomery), who in the reboot was a football legend in his school, until one fateful mistake changed his life. Jason seeks redemption and is struggling to find himself, until he leads an unlikely group of teenagers as superheroes and must rise to the challenge to lead them.
Next is Kimberly, the Pink Ranger (Naomi Scott) is once a popular girl in her school, but has been cast out of the popular friends and is now struggling to find her identity. She has a new "rebel without-a-cause", edgy attitude, but this is a front is to hide her vulnerability.
Billy, the Blue Ranger (R.J. Cyler) is a smart and sweet boy who has hard time making friends due to his lack of social and communication skills. He is constantly being bullied, until he made connections to other four teenagers who gave him a chance know people like never before.
Trini, the Yellow Ranger (Becky G.) is mysterious "new girl" in Angel Groove as her parents constantly move from town to twon due their work. She is considered a "lone wolf", self-sufficient and contemplative, but always observant. In truth she longs to find her own group of friends, even tho she does not admit it.
Lastly, Zack, the Black Ranger (Ludi Lin) has a tough and cool exterior filled with confidence and swagger. However, he has deep layers to his personality that makes him feel inferior to others.
In other news, there are rumors making rounds regarding a possible death of Ranger during the course of the "Power Rangers" reboot.
It seems that film's antagonist Rita Repulsa (Elizabeth Banks) has a particular interest in Trini as photos and the teaser trailer sees Rita targeting her.
Becky G told Entertainment Weekly the reason why Rita is targeting Trini because she believe that Trini is the weak link of the team, less capable than the others, so Rita may simply be trying to corrupt the Rangers from within.
Rita told Trini during the tease trailer that she has killed Rangers before her, which hints of a possible death within the Power Rangers ranks.
The "Power Rangers" reboot will be in cinemas on March 24, 2017.
