"Overwatch's" latest patch with the theme of Halloween is now live on all platforms. The latest digital comic Junkenstein is also available.
Blizzard announced on the official website of the popular online video game that the new patch will run for the next three weeks. The game will celebrate this time of the year with its style, and also with a brand new seasonal event. Players will be able to explore the haunted streets of Hollywood, collect items that have the holiday theme, and the video game's latest PvE brawl called Junkenstein's Revenge.
The game company said that all in-game Loot Boxes have now been replaced with the special glowing jack-o'-lanterns. These lanterns will have over 100 new cosmetic treats for players to collect. The lanterns that they earn or purchase starting now until the event finishes will have at least one item from their Halloween 2016 collection.
The Halloween 2016 collection will contain items like profile icons, sprays, victory poses, emotes, highlight intros, skins, and many more. Players can unlock these customization options with credits in the Hero Gallery during the length of the event. For those who can unlock these items, they can keep it forever.
Players will be able to join in "Overwatch's" first co-op PvE brawl called Junkenstein's Revenge. They can join with three other players and fight against a lot of scary enemies, including Dr. Junkenstein. He is also joined by a lot of zomnics, the Reaper, Junkenstein's Monster, a mysterious witch, and a lot of zomnics.
This new event is the story of Dr. Jamison Junkenstein, who was an inventor and scientist. The Lord of Adlersbrunn once employed this doctor for his genius. The doctor's dream was to create artificial life, but the Lord insulted him and his creations, and fired him.
Junkenstein vowed to prove the vile lord wrong. Conveniently, a mysterious stranger showed up to his mansion and gave him an offer to perfect his creation. This is where Junkenstein's Monster was born.
In other "Overwatch" related news, the ninth issue of the game company's digital comics is now available, which is called Junkenstein. According to another post on the official website of the video game, this new digital comic tells the story of the mad doctor and his thirst for revenge. This was written by Michael Chu and Matt Burns, and was illustrated by Gray Shuko.
